First of all, I want to thank everyone for the comments. It makes me feel good that people actually read my ramblings. I know most of the time they're not coherent (or is it incoherent? - prime example there) but writing on the fly without proofreading is pretty much all I can accomplish with my short time on the Internet. So trust me when I say I left the Journalism school with better writing skills than what you see here.
Today Megan and I arrived in Piran, Slovenia. It's a little town on the coast and it's quite nice. It beats the tourist-filled beaches of Italy for sure. It began raining as soon as we got here and got off the 3 hour bus ride, so when we arrived at our hostel we took a nap. We woke up to my phone ringing, but I didn't recognize the ring and realize that it was mine until it was too late, so if you're the one who called I apologize for not answering. Try again!
We're going to go to the market now and buy dinner and maybe a bottle of cheap wine and find some friends in the hostel and venture out to the beach.
When I get back to the States, I think I'm going to consider changing the focus of my job hunting. I think I will write a letter to Rick Steves (the guy who publishes the travel books I've been using) and beg him for a job. There's nothing better than getting paid to travel, and I love to write so why not?!
If this doesn't work then I want to let you all know that I am sufficently educated on the methods of getting about in Europe, so if you need a travel guide, you may hire me! Or, just pay for me to tag along and I'll entertain you.
Oh, and I'm also thinking of extending my stopover in Chicago (after returning from Alaska) to include a 4th of July in the Windy City. Hopefully it works out!
Ciao Ciao.

You're hired!! I couldn't think of a better way to see the world than with you.
The job/travel angle sounds like a great idea - not sure how it pays but you could really see the world.
You do a great job writing - especially on the run. Your adventures are always entertaining that's for sure! I don't know if you realize it but you mention food in almost every message - I love it and it makes me chuckle. Traveling and food just go hand in hand - so fun to try new things.
Sorry you're having rain. It's been so beautiful here - hope the weather holds out for SBD.
Bye for now.
Love ya.
Sue
The thing with food is it's different everywhere you go, so you have to try what the locals try! I'm just trying to grasp the culture!
Hello from Sunny BRL - I think you really should consider the travel angle - why not - maybe work for someone for awhile then start you own company - you definitely have the gift of writing. I have enjoyed all your blog entries.
I see book deal in the future.
4th in Windy City - probably would be fun.

Bailey says - Woof!!!!!!!!!
I agree about the food. That's why it's so hard to loose any weight - it's too fun to try new things no matter where you are.
Are you sure you want to miss our 5th annual July 4th party? Can't imagine Chicago could be more fun.
hahaha!
Waiting for the next install. Where are you headed next?
Reality check...Verizon bill arrived today. Payment arrangements are...?
Hey - I'm waiting with antcipation for you next update - checked 3 times today. - I'll check tomorrow.

how weird is it to be on the other side of the travel blog? Not really sure if I like it so much.
Seve and I have spent some quality time together since I got back yesterday. I'm talking shopping, eating, etc. He is pretty much my taxi service because my family didn't come to get me from the airport, just another example...
We (Seve and I) are heading back to the great city of Wichita this afternoon, but not until after some wings at Jefferson's. I leave tomorrow for SC and a week of laying on the beach.
Ok, this is getting quite long. Maybe an email would be better. Just wanted to say hi and that I miss you.
Val
Where are you now? We took a poll at SBD last night and want you to take us all to Greece.
DAY 1 SBD: HOT!! Not a very big crowd, tenderloin was good - fresh grease! Cranberry hard lemonade too good - had 3. Music got better as the evening went along. Mayflies terrible - didn't stay long after concert. Southstage band was really good afterwards but the bugs were just too much to put up with.
I'll fill you in on day 2 tomorrow.
Love,
Sue
