I am in Ljubljana, Slovenia right now. It is a great town with a picturesque view of the mountains. Overlooking the town is a castle, which Megan and I hiked up to today. The view from the castle watch tower was incredible. We had a 360 degree view of the town and the surrounding mountains.
After making the trek up to the castle, we walked around town. A river flows right through the middle of town, so there are tons of beautiful bridges spanning the river. One really famous bridge is "Three Bridges". There is a traffic bridge, and then two pedestrian bridges that fork out from a town square.
Lined up and down the river are little vendors selling antiques and souviners. Imagine Snake Alley Art Fair, but bigger, and it happens every Sunday. Tomorrow we are planning on going to the fruit, vegetable and flower market. It is closed on Sunday but we walked by the area where it is held and it looks huge.
It just started raining really hard so we came back to our hostel and are planning the next leg of our journey. We are deciding between somewhere in Croatia, or going to the coast of Slovenia. We have heard great things about the Slovenian coast, but I want another country stamped in my passport. If I cant make it to Greece, I want to see the Croatian beaches, but I suppose any beach will do.

Can't wait to see all your pictures. This place sounds beautiful - and a bigger Snake Alley every Sunday - boy would that be fun. Did you buy anything?
We'll be waiting to hear which direction you are heading next.
It's trying to rain here, but we're still getting some work done in the yard. Until next time......
Love, Sue
Wanting another stamp in your passport...that's a novel way to plan your travels! No doubt you will fill yours long before I fill mine.
Ventured to Spooner, WI this weekend. Gone for 50 hours, drove 1000 miles, 10 hours of sleep. Left B'ton Friday at 4:30 and arrived in Spooner around 1 am Saturday. Had OD'd on caffiene so didn't not go to sleep until 4 am and was awake at 6. We went into Spooner, traveled to Rice Lake and toured the town, Menard's and Wal-Mart to pick up supplies. A friend of Mikes and two of his pilot friends landed their planes at the airstrip in front of Mike's house. Ended up getting a air tour of the area from one of the guys. Went fishing Saturday evening...well, I didn't fish since I don't have a WI fishing license and did not want to spend time with the DNR. Mike fished and I slept in the bottom of the john boat.
Left Spooner at 9:30 this morning and got home at 5:45. Don't know that I've ever traveled that many hours in a car by myself. Kept myself amused though. Opened the sun roof, rolled down the windows and cranked up the CD's. Sang along so much my throat is now sore.
Only minor navigational mishaps...toured the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse Campus. I didn't really have to navigate on the way up to Spooner as I was following the "Keystone" tailgate. Amazing how little attention you have to pay to route signs/numbers when you are following someone. Which reminds me of Gayle's trip to Des Moines via Waterloo!
Gotta go...talk to ya soon.
Love ya,
Mom

Enjoyed reading about Ljubljana - now I'll have to go to the internet to see what where you are.
Love you - and starting to miss you.
